Mother’s Day is just a few weeks away and every year I like to make a “List of Suggestions” of what I would love for Mother’s Day. I know my husband appreciates it and this list tends to get used a lot for Birthdays and other gift-giving occasions.
Laura and I have known each other for almost 10 years. We were friends long before either of us had kids. In fact, we used to work together. I was a business banker and she was a bank manager. Throughout the years, I’ve been lucky enough to to be a part of her life’s biggest moments. From her wedding day to meeting her first little girl when she was only days old, I feel as if Laura is one of those friends who I do life with.
This month’s “What To Wear” guide is completely focused on moms. With “A Motherhood Event” coming up I thought it would be helpful to preview some of the dresses I currently have available in the studio wardrobe that you are able to borrow from. My initial goal behind the studio wardrobe is to prevent moms from stressing out about what to wear so you can truly relax and enjoy the experience.
This year, Always Elegant Photography will be hosting A Motherhood Event. We will celebrate motherhood at the studio with a pastry bar, coffee, champaign, pampering with hair and make-up, swag bags and beautiful photographs of mama’s and their babies.
Please join me Saturday, May 4th, 2019 as we capture a few images of you and your little one(s).
Because having elegant photos of you and your child(ren) matters.
How people announce their pregnancy can really give you a sense of their journey. Maybe this is their first child and the pregnancy was completely unexpected. Maybe it is their third pregnancy and the announcement was delayed because life with two other kids is hectic. Or maybe this person has been experiencing a long infertility journey and this pregnancy is the answer to countless prayers and medical help.
Whatever the story is, the picture you choose to share on social media can help you convey that.
These pregnancy announcements really evoke emotion. They make their audience feel as if they are apart of the mother’s journey. You instantly feel connected with the excitement each mom is feeling and the adventure that is about to begin.
“If Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, then the NICU must be the saddest.”
There is something so enthralling when a client shares how their little one entered this world. I love hearing all the details such as when they went into labor, how long everything took, and what the birth was like.
While every birth story is different, some birth stories begin after the baby has already been born.
Last September, Matt and I celebrated 10 years of marriage with an intimate and elegant vow renewal ceremony. I have been patiently waiting to share all the details and the beautiful photos we had taken to forever document that special day. Renewing our vows served as an important reminder of how much we have grown as a couple, as individuals, as parents, and as a family.
These past 10 years have shed so much light on what matters most to us. And as we continue to build a life we are proud of we’ve learned a few key lessons along the way. In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’ve decided to share our story and how we’ve made it this far in our marriage. While our story is unique to us, the take away can be applied to anyone.
Snow days can sometimes be difficult to photograph. There is a lot going on and you have to move quickly before everyone gets cold and tired. Here is my step by step process of how I take pictures in the snow.
Every year I always look forward to taking photos of my little ones for Valentine’s Day. I usually spend about 10 minutes and capture some super sweet images of my kids. Then I use those pictures to make Valentine’s cards for school and social media. This has been a little tradition of ours since my oldest son was in preschool.
As the years have passed, family and friends are always delighted to receive their updated Valentine’s Day pictures of the kids. And I get a chance to incorporate new props that I later use during my clients Valentine’s photo sessions. While this was not a thing I was planning on making a tradition all those years ago, I’m so glad that it has become one.
February is focused on celebrating love and capturing the essence of the cold winter months.
You can expect to see lots of blush colors appear throughout my photography and some pops of red. While I always focus on creating a clean and simple backdrop, this month you will notice how much the background creates contrast with the added burst of color. The white background will be a running theme as I capture my kids playing in the snow and intentionally incorporate it during this months’ mini session.
February is its own kind of fresh start to the new year. Spring is on the horizon, blush-toned colors are appearing in stores all over town and a feeling of love can be felt throughout.
To me, February is one of those months that if you’re not intentional with your time it will be over far too soon. During the month we are reminded to reconnect with the ones we love and to take some time to celebrate one another. And even though this month can quickly pass you by, it still offers so much hope of what’s to come.
