THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FULL SESSION AND A MINI SESSION

One of the questions I’m often asked is “What is the difference between a full session and a mini session?”

So I’m going to break it all down for you so you can confidently choose which type of session would be best for you and your family.

Let’s start with a full family photo session:

  • Full family sessions last between 45-60 minutes.

  • You can schedule your session for a day and time that works best for you and your family.

  • You’ll receive three times the amount of images to choose from which makes it easier to create wall galleries and albums.

  • You get a complimentary ordering appointment with me so I can help guide you in choosing your favorite images for your wall galleries and albums.

  • Because your session lasts longer, I can capture a much wider variety of images, poses, angles and interactions.

  • You will be the only family that I’m photographing that day.

  • My energy can match your energy. So if your kiddos need a break or need me to work slower and wait patiently for their genuine smiles I can do that.

  • You have the option of borrowing clothes for the entire family from the studio wardrobe.

  • Pricing is based on current collection pricing which can be found HERE.

Now let’s talk about family mini sessions:

  • Mini sessions are fast paced and lasts between 10-15 minutes.

  • Mini sessions are scheduled for dates and times selected by the photographer.

  • Mini sessions are based on a specific theme (Ex. The Santa Experience, Fall Mini Sessions, Motherhood Events)

  • You’ll receive a set number of images depending on the type of mini session.

  • You’ll receive your images via an online gallery where you’ll be able to select and download your digital images.

  • I’ll photograph you in up to 5 poses depending on the time allowed.

  • There are multiple families scheduled for the same mini session. You’ll get your own time slot but there may be families scheduled before and/or after you.

  • My energy is extremely high on mini sessions days and I move very quickly.

  • Due to the fast paced nature of mini sessions, clients will not be able to borrow clothes from the studio wardrobe.

  • Pricing is set by the type of mini session event and significantly less than collection pricing.

The last thing I want to talk about is the similarities between full sessions and mini sessions:

  • All photo sessions are photographed by Ashley Brown.

  • Everyone gets sent a “What to Wear Guide.”

  • Every photo session is edited with the same Always Elegant Photography signature style.

  • All outdoor photo sessions typically take place 90 minutes before sunset.

  • I’ll always try to document each child individually as well as everyone together.

  • Every session is an experience that will be elegantly photographed and remembered for years to come.

I hope this breakdown of the difference between a full session and a mini session was helpful. Let me know if you have any questions or need more help decided which type of session would be best for you and your family.
